LOT 1 – One-hour Jazz Singing Lesson
Learn your favourite standard with certified jazz singer Konni Deppe. You’ll do a vocal warmup, improvisation and ear training exercises and will learn the tune. No experience necessary, beginners and experienced singers welcome.
Notes: This will take place at Konni’s home in High Town. Participant should be 14 years and older.
LOT 2 – One-hour Architect Home Improvements Consultation
Architect Ana Sutherland will visit your house to discuss ideas and strategies for home improve- ments (extensions, loft conversion, re-planning, kitchen layouts, interior design, etc). Ana will sketch ideas over an estate agent plan (if available) and leave those with the homeowner.
Notes: If appropriate, Ana will email a few links for suppliers and other contacts as a follow-up. Can travel within London and up to the Luton area. Date and time to be arranged.
LOT 3 – House Portrait
Local artist Alina Pullinger will use a photo of an outside view of your home to create a personalised pen-and-watercolour illustration on heavyweight paper, 210x148mm (A5). The drawing will be completed within a month of receiving your photo. It will be supplied unframed, so that you can choose a frame that suits your style.
Notes: We can either arrange collection or postage depending on where you are.
LOT 4 – Beekeeping Experience
Led by Beekeeper Simon Barrow once the bees are flying, probably in late April or May. The participant will learn fascinating facts about bees, how they live and survive in the wild. You will also find out about how beekeepers keep bees and where honey comes from. Then we will put on bee suits (provided) and go and meet them, including the queen. The experience will take half a day and is weather dependent. Refreshments will be provided, as will a couple of jars of honey to enjoy.
Notes: The experience will take place at Simon’s home in High Town. The participant must be over 18 years old.
LOT 5 – A Poem on a Topic of your Choice
Provide a topic and Luton’s Peoples’ Poet (The Luton News) Lee Nelson will compose a poem for you. The poem will be in a suitable form and length to do justice to the topic as the poet sees fit. The poem will take no more than three months to complete and will be delivered to its owner as either an email or, should you prefer, a handwritten manuscript sent through the post to your address. Notes: Please try to avoid overtly political topics.
LOT 6 – Three Course Dinner Party for Six People
Local foodie Janet Corcoran will discuss your food preferences with you and create several sample menus which take account of your likes, dislikes and any dietary restrictions. Based on your selec- tion, Janet will prepare the three-course meal and deliver it to your on the day of the event ready to be heated, if necessary, and served. Three bottles of wine, or alternatively, a non-alcoholic drink will be provided to complement the food.
Notes: The menu will be supplied to the home of the successful bidder or other location chosen by them. Alcohol for 18 years of age or above only. Serving at the table and washing up are not included.
LOT 7 – A Song Written and Recorded for You
Published songwriter Sam Hargreaves will write a unique song for your loved one, a special occa- sion or a group. It could be a major birthday, an advertisement for your business, a theme-song for your school, or something else. It’ll be based on ideas and musical direction you give him. He will record it and make a lyric video you can share online and/or display in your venue.
LOT 8 – A Surprise
A surprise for you or someone else, courtesy of local community worker Sam Willis. Notes: Not for the faint-hearted.
LOT 9 – Living Room Concert
Local singer/songwriter Andy Flannagan will perform a 60-minute gig in your living room – him and his guitar. Invite all your friends to this special occasion.
Notes: Bidder must be over 16 years old.
LOT 10 – One-hour Personal Training or one-hour Massage
Personal trainer David Hulford will create an individually designed training programme for a one- hour session at home or in the Highfield gym. Alternatively, he will provide a therapeutic massage.
Notes: Provided at your own home or at the gym at Highfield Oval in Harpenden. Participants must be over 18 years of age.
LOT 11 – Two Framed Paintings

Two beautiful paintings by internationally exhibiting local artist, Abi Spendlove. Inspired and created by the movement of water, these small abstract paintings are like miniature watery landscapes or islands on the paper. They are made with Calligra- phy inks and water from the River Lea.

LOT 12 – A Wash, Cut, Blowdry and a Bottle of Wine
Lucia’s Hair and Beauty is offering a haircut and blow-dry PLUS a bottle of wine to celebrate your new style with.
Notes: Treatment will take place at Lucia’s Hair and Beauty Salon on High Town Road, Luton. Wine for over 18’s only.
